Recovery: The Limiting Factor

Training frequency is ultimately limited by recovery capacity. You can only train productively if each session begins with adequate recovery from the previous one. Signs of insufficient recovery between sessions: performance declining session to session, persistent soreness or tightness in the same muscle group that does not resolve, elevated resting heart rate, poor motivation, and disrupted sleep.
