How to Pace a 10K Race

10K pacing requires more discipline than a 5K — the extra 5 km means starting too fast is even more costly. Most beginner 10K runners go out too fast in the first 2–3 km, pay for it in kilometres 7–9, and finish significantly slower than they could have with an even split.
